Performance and Capability

You'll want plenty of power for passing on the highway and muscling through rugged terrain. The Ford Bronco Sport comes standard with a turbocharged three-cylinder engine that makes 181 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque. An available four-cylinder engine generates 250 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. The Subaru Forester's only engine option is a four-cylinder motor producing 180 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque.

Both the Ford Bronco Sport and the Subaru Forester come standard with all-wheel drive. However, the Bronco Sport also comes with five G.O.A.T. drive modes to help you conquer challenging conditions, including Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery, and Sand. The Forester offers dual-function X-MODE driving modes, but you must pay more for a higher trim to acquire them.

Technology

A feature-rich infotainment system can make long journeys or tedious commutes more interesting. The Ford Bronco Sport comes standard with a 13.2-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, the system comes equipped with a wireless device charger. The Subaru Forester's standard setup has dual seven-inch touchscreens. Wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity are included, but a wireless smartphone charging pad is optional.

Modern safety tech makes city driving less stressful, and the Ford Bronco Sport comes with a wealth of standard driver assistance features from the Co-Pilot360 Assist+ suite. Its seven advanced active safety features include evasive steering assistance, which can aid you in avoiding collisions. The Subaru Forester's EyeSight suite has five driver aids, but evasive steering assistance is not included in the package.
